CTP and pre-press

CTP and plate automation, supplied and supported.

Most suppliers do one or the other. Dennison specifies and installs plate making systems, and the same engineers support them for the next fifteen years. New and upgraded equipment from SCREEN, KRAUSE and NELA, and engineering support on installations we did not supply.

Pre-press since 1993 SCREEN, KRAUSE, NELA and Fujifilm

Where to start

Equipment or engineering support

Most enquiries are one of two things: specifying, supplying or upgrading CTP and plate automation equipment, or service and engineering support for an installation you already run. We do both, and the same engineers are involved either way.

Systems

CTP and plate automation

Plate making systems designed around your plate volume and the space you have. New equipment from SCREEN, KRAUSE and NELA, refurbished platesetters, and an outright purchase or part exchange on what you are replacing.

  • SCREEN, KRAUSE and NELA equipment
  • Refurbished CTP, tested and warranted
  • We buy used CTP outright
  • System specification and layout

Service

Support and maintenance

Service agreements, breakdown attendance, planned maintenance and technical support, on our own installations and on equipment somebody else supplied.

  • Service agreements and planned maintenance
  • Breakdown attendance and repair
  • Remote diagnosis and technical escalation
  • Equipment beyond manufacturer support

The manufacturers

Who we are appointed by, and for what

Our relationship with each manufacturer is different, so they are set out separately rather than under one heading. Where we are not appointed, we say so and support the equipment independently.

01

SCREEN: CTP Sales, Installation and Service PartnerPlate imaging

Supplied, installed and supported. PlateRite Commercial images B1 and B2 plates at up to seventy plates an hour and up to 4,000 dpi. PlateRite Ultima takes plates up to 1600 × 2280 mm at 2,540 dpi. Both are SCREEN’s published maxima and depend on plate size, resolution, screening and configuration. The figure that matters is the one your own work produces, which we will size with you.

02

KRAUSE: UK Sales and Service PartnerAutomated plate loading

Supplied, installed and supported. The PowerLoader range stores up to 1,500 plates and feeds the platesetter at up to forty plates an hour, depending on the configuration. KRAUSE’s figures. This is the component that lets plate making run unattended.

03

NELA: UK Sales and Service PartnerPlate transport, punching, bending and sorting

Supplied, installed and supported. Everything between the processor and the press: transport, register punching, bending, and sorting into press order, with the plate surface handled throughout.

04

Fujifilm: UK Service PartnerCTP service

A service appointment rather than a sales one. We support Fujifilm’s own CTP customers on Fujifilm’s behalf, and we support our own Fujifilm customers under our own agreements. The same engineers cover both, and have done since the company was founded.

Looking after your equipment

Service and engineering support

Plate making that stops takes the presses with it, so pre-press support is judged on a different standard to most equipment. Cover is matched to the equipment and to how hard you run it.

All service and support →

Service agreementsPlanned maintenance through to more comprehensive cover including breakdown attendance, labour and eligible parts, built around the equipment you run.
Breakdown attendanceOne-off and contracted breakdown support on plate making equipment, including installations we did not supply.
Remote diagnosisFault identification and parts confirmation before a van is booked.
Beyond manufacturer supportParts, workshop repair and engineering knowledge for equipment the manufacturer no longer supports.
Consumables and partsConsumables and spares, including for equipment out of manufacturer support.
RelocationEquipment moves, whether within a building or to a new site, planned around the production you cannot stop.

Cover depends on the equipment, its age and your production pattern, so the useful first step is a conversation about the machines, not a price list.

Changing your equipment

New, refurbished, and the machine you are replacing

Not every site needs a new automated line, and a refurbished platesetter from our own workshop is often the better answer for volume that does not justify one. We also buy used CTP outright, or take it in part exchange, which is usually the difference between an old machine being an asset and a disposal problem.

Refurbishment is done in our workshop, tested before it ships, and warranted.

Planning new equipment, or need support on what you run?

Tell us the equipment, the plate volume and the site. Whether it is a new automated system, a refurbished platesetter or support on an installation somebody else supplied, the first conversation is the same one.
