Digital cutting

Digital cutting systems, and the engineers who keep them running.

Flatbed, laser and roll-fed cutting for graphics, packaging, textiles, composites and industrial components. Dennison supplies new systems, sells refurbished machines out of its own workshop, modernises the control software on cutters that are still mechanically sound, and services the makes we are appointed for alongside compatible systems we support independently.

Where to start

Three ways into a cutting system

Our print and pre-press background is why customers bring us cutting work: the machines are different but the engineering problem is the same one. Whether you are specifying a first system, replacing a table that has run its course or trying to get another five years out of one, it starts in one of these three places.

New systems

Summa cutting systems

Flatbed, laser and roll-fed systems from Summa, supplied and supported in the UK by Dennison. Demonstration and test cutting on your own material before you commit to anything.

Used and refurbished

Machines from our workshop

Cutting tables stripped, rebuilt and tested by the same engineers who service them in the field, with the service history where we hold it. Stock is single machines and it moves quickly.

Applications

Start with what you need to cut

The material, its thickness, whether it arrives as sheet or roll and how much of it you produce decide the technology long before the badge does. These are starting points, not specifications. A test cut on your own material settles it properly.

Industrial components

Composites, gaskets, foams and technical sheet

Mixed materials, varying thickness and high downforce. Usually a modular flatbed with a tool range that runs from kiss cutting through to routing, chosen around the finished component rather than the material alone.

Summa F Series Vantage →

Packaging and point of sale

Corrugated, folding box board and rigid panel

Accurate cutting and creasing, short runs, frequent changeovers and prototyping. Tangential sheet cutting is the usual answer, with camera registration where the work is printed first.

Summa V Series →

Textiles and soft signage

Fabric, flag, sportswear and dye sublimation

Where a sealed edge matters or knife wear would eat the margin, laser cutting is normally worth costing against a knife. Registration to the printed image is usually the deciding feature.

Summa L Series →

Graphics, vinyl and labels

Roll stock, print and cut

Contour cutting printed roll material, often alongside a wide format printer. Roll-fed cutting handles most of it; a flatbed earns its place once rigid board joins the work.

Summa S Series →

If your material is not obviously in one of those four, it is worth a conversation. A good deal of our cutting work is material nobody expected to be cut on a table.

Cutters currently in the workshop

Refurbished machines are sold one at a time, so this list is short by design and changes without warning. Everything here has been through our own workshop and carries what service history we hold.

Service and support

Support that keeps production moving.

From urgent breakdowns to planned maintenance, our engineers help keep digital cutting systems working and production on schedule.

We support customers across the UK and mainland Europe, and deploy worldwide for installations, relocations, training and manufacturer projects. Our experience covers both partner brands and selected equipment that we maintain independently.

01

Breakdown attendance

An engineer on site, with the diagnosis started on the phone before anyone sets off.

02

Planned maintenance

Scheduled visits on the parts that wear, so the table fails in our diary rather than yours.

03

Tooling, parts and consumables

Blades, bits, belts and vacuum components, supplied on their own or fitted on a visit.

04

Operator training

On your machine, on your material, with the people who run it day to day.

05

Relocation and recommissioning

Moved, re-sited, levelled and handed back working, within a building or between sites.

06

Legacy and obsolete support

Equipment the original manufacturer has stopped supporting, kept in production where it is safe and sensible to do so.

If a machine has stopped right now, the telephone is faster than any form.

Give your cutter a new lease of life.

An ageing computer or unsupported software does not always mean replacing the whole cutting system.

Dennison can modernise compatible cutters with current OptiScout software, an upgraded control environment and the practical support needed to get everything working together.

  • New OptiScout licences and software upgrades
  • Replacement control PCs and current Windows environments
  • Installation, configuration and workflow setup
